Monte
Azul Press
Our goal is to
promote the medium of fine art printmaking and encourage
experimentation and exploration of the various printmaking
media.
Dedicated to
producing museum quality works on paper, Carlos Rojas and
Randall Langendorfer head the programming while renowned artist
Álvaro Gómez Ulloa, as Master Printer, heads the operations.
In accordance with
our ecological concerns, only water based inks, recycled and
handmade papers are employed. Available only at Monte Azul,
artist Ileana Moya provides the handmade papers, as well as
custom or exclusive papers, for any printmaking technique.
The studio at
Monte Azul Press is equipped with a beautifully restored 1978
Griffin Etching Press boasting a new 73” press bed, the largest
in Costa Rica. The press is ideal for a number of printmaking
techniques, including:
|
 |
-
Aquatint
-

-

Additionally,
Monte Azul offers facilities for fine art screen printing.
A separate
division,
Monte Azul Gráfica produces a line of original
hand-pulled screen prints available for sale from our dealers or
