Studies

1982 Gets her Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts with Honors. Major in textiles and minor in Ceramics at the California College of the Arts in Oakland, California.

Labour Experience

2005-2006 Appointed as International Coordinator of the same Biennial on its 4th edition, "Man+Woman = Creation" to take place in Costa Rica.

She is also currently working as Coordinator of the research project “Rescue of Costa Rican Textiles”.

Her piece “Nandayure” was recently awarded with the Second Prize at the contest “First Contest for Visual Arts at Punta Islita”.

She is currently working at her workshop, developing either private and public commissions as well. She is also a consultant in the area of textile design.

2004 Appointed as Coordinator for Latin America in the III International Biennial of the Organization of Women in Textile Art in Valencia, Venezuela.

2000-2004 Trustee of the Museum of Costa Rican Art.

Desde 1996 Appointed as Curator of the Art Collection of the Foundation for the Rescue and Protection of the Patrimony of the Presidential House.

1998-91

Founding member of the group of artists called ‘Bocaracá’

Professor at the New School of Visual Arts.

1986-87 Design consultant for AID TO ARTISANS INC, Costa Rica. Many of the products were presented in international fairs.

1984-85 Professor of Textiles at the School of Fine Arts of the University of Costa Rica. In charge of the creation and planning of the new Textile Program as well as in charge of the emerging Department of Textiles.
