GUARANTEE

Reservations are only guaranteed when the Hotel has received your deposit.

DEPOSIT

To secure accommodations, the Hotel requires a deposit of two nights' rate plus tax. The deposit will be credited to the first and last night of your stay. If your stay is only for one night, just one night’s stay will be required.

PAYPAL

Monte Azul gladly accepts Paypal. Please ask for a Paypal Payment Request at info@monteazulcr.com and you will receive a request directly from Paypal.

CREDIT CARDS

To charge by credit card, follow the instructions on the email confirming availability of your room.

CHECKS

As an alternative to a credit card, the Hotel will accept a direct deposit by check or money order. The check or money order must be received by City National Bank in the US no later than two weeks after booking. If the check or money order is not received in two weeks, the Hotel will automatically cancel the reservation. Details and instructions for payment by check will be in the email confirming availability of your room.
For payment at Check Out, local laws require that the Hotel charge guests in the Costa Rican Colón, even though rates are quoted and confirmed in US Dollars. However, a Deposit paid in the form of check or money order should be made out in US Dollars.

CANCELLATIONS

30 to 15 days prior to first night’s stay will forfeit the deposit.

15 days or less will be charged the full amount of the reservation, same for no-shows.

SMOKING

As a Retreat for health, relaxation and inspiration, smoking is not permitted anywhere on the 48 hectare (125 acre) property. Violation will result in a Smoking Fee equal to the entire stay of the guest. Guests who smoke are welcome at Tio Pepe's just across the road from Monte Azul, an atmosphere the non-smokers will also love!

MUSIC & TELEVISION

Rooms are not equipped with televisions or stereos. As a retreat, Monte Azul does not permit these items, but personal music devices such as Ipods and MP3s are of course admitted.

CHILDREN

Because Monte Azul is a hotel that is also a retreat where many of our guests seek tranquility for health, meditation and artistic inspiration, we ask that consideration and discernment be exercised when bringing children. The nature preserve includes safe trails, but please be aware that it is nonetheless a wilderness; rivers may have strong currents, and the property’s terrain is not suitable for strollers or children under the age of 8 years. Children must be in constant supervision. Please use sound judgment when including children on your trip. Feel free to contact us with specific questions. Our goal is to make the stay at Monte Azul safe, comfortable and enjoyable for all of our guests.
Casa Palo Alto does not accept children under 8..

TIPPING

By law in Costa Rica, all meal prices include taxes and tips. Tipping is not required or expected for other Hotel services, but of course, always welcomed for excellent service.
