randy & carlos
Randy holds two Master degrees, in Business and Plant Physiology from the University of Indiana at Bloomington. After many years as International Marketing Director for a toy company in San Francisco, where he was in charge of international marketing for such widely known brands as Star Wars, for example, Randy pursued his passion for art and design. He became a licensed contractor in the state of California after his company was bought out and closed. His projects included the restoration of early 20th century homes in Northern California, as well as remodeling homes in Los Angeles and San Francisco, and designing and building original furniture designs. Randy is also an expert with stained glass windows and is considered a highly skilled fine art screenprint maker.
Carlos has over 20 years of experience in the art world. Starting as an artist working in printmaking and painting, Carlos received early recognition for his work from the State of California and several local exhibitions of his work. Because of his interest in the history of art and an academic career, his profession led to curatorial and administrative positions at museums and private galleries, himself owning two galleries in San Francisco prior to opening Monte Azul. He is a graduate in Art & Art History of UC Berkeley with a Masters Degree in Art History from the University of California and the Universidad Complutense de Madrid where he pursued doctoral coursework. Along the way Carlos was also a waiter, bar tender, vineyard manager in Mendocino and had many, many more disparate but really fun jobs.
